Rev. Sarah Campbell, Senior Pastor
A graduate of the University of Florida and Asbury Theological Seminary, Sarah was appointed to IFUMC in 2013. She leads the staff team and preaches at all worship services. As Senior Pastor, Sarah is responsible to the Bishop for the spiritual and business affairs of our congregation.
Sarah is an eighth generation Floridian. Her family has lived in Cedar Key since the 1840s. She loves the Nature Coast, considers this area “home”, and is honored and humbled to serve as the Senior Pastor of IFUMC. Sarah enjoys traveling. If she ever runs away, she will be found in Athens, Greece. She also likes fishing, boating, cycling, running, reading, collecting vintage cigar boxes, coins and stamps, and souping up her Ford Mustang convertible. Sarah has a cat, Melba Cat, an exceptionally smart and cute kitty.
Sarah began attending Cedar Key United Methodist Church with her grandmother when she was a teenager. She was overwhelmed by the love and sense of belonging she found through this community of faith. On her first Sunday in worship, she remembers sitting in the back pew and thinking as the pastor began talking, “I don’t know what that man has, but I need to get it, too.” It, of course, was God’s grace shining bright. In her life and ministry, she has sought to share God’s love with others as it was shared to her through the good folks of Cedar Key United Methodist. She knows that having a strong relationship with Jesus Christ can make all the difference in a person’s life.
Sarah believes God is doing a great, new work in all of us. As Christians, we are constantly called to new beginnings, all while continuing to worship and praise God for all of God’s grace and goodness. She is reminded always of Psalm 96:1, “Sing a new song to the LORD! Let the whole earth sing to the LORD!”
